Hi Janet!
Ahoy and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with your question about your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation to Alaska! It appEARs that you have sailed with Captain Mickey before, but have you had the chance to sail with
Captain Minnie yet?!?! I am sure she will help ensure that your voyage to Alaska is as memorable as any other Disney Cruise Line vacation you’ve been on!
You are going to have just the best time in Alaska; my family enjoyed our first visit there so much that we are headed back again this summer for a second time! I am looking forward to experiencing some different
excursions now that my boys are older, but we will most definitely make a point to get to the Mendenhall Glacier when in Juneau! Hopefully you’ve explored the fantastic offerings from Port Adventures and are making plans of your own!
You brought a great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and I am so glad that you did! Whenever we travel internationally, we always plan to bring local currency with us for tips and taxi services. While often American money will be accepted, my experience is that the locals are so very appreciative of receiving local currency. So, my recommendation would be to have local currency for the time you are in Vancouver. And, as always, if you plan on using a credit card, ensure that your bank is aware that you will be traveling internationally and find out any fees associated with using it there! If you haven’t been to
Vancouver before, you will love it! We were so impressed with the city and actually wish we had more time to spend there and are considering adding a couple days to the end of our voyage before making our way home! The aquarium is very impressive and the area right by the cruise terminal is so fun and unique!
As you continue planning for your exciting adventure, please come back with any questions you may have!
