Hello! We have a brunch reservation at the California Grill at 11:20. We will be going to Animal Kingdom park afterwards. What amount of time do I allow for eating brunch and getting to the park? What would be my earliest time for a fast pass?

    Hi Renee,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Renee, my friend, you have a reservation for my favorite meal at the Walt Disney World Resort, Brunch at the Top. For the past two years, I have enjoyed this elegant, delightful meal with dear friends of mine. After two years I think we should consider it a tradition, don't you? You are going to want plenty of time to enjoy every morsel of this meal. The food is out of this world and the service is exemplary. Our servers constantly encouraged us to take our time and savor the experience. The view from the California Grill is simply the icing on top!

We chose to have a quiet rest day after our memorable brunch. However, the call of the parks is too strong and like you, we found ourselves on the way to a park before long. I would plan to have at least an hour and a half set aside for brunch. If you weren't trying to accomplish anything else that day, I would recommend at least two hours. After Brunch at the Top, you can take bus transportation from Disney's Contemporary Resort to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Buses typically run every 20 minutes. If you add up your time for brunch, time for transportation, time to get in the park and to an attraction, I think 3 hours is a safe bet. I would try to start FastPass+ selections around 2:30 P.M.
Renee, thank you for visiting us with your question. I hope you'll let us know if you have any other planning questions we can help you with.
    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Amy H.
