Howdy, Samantha! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let's get you ready for a rootin' tootin' (and meat-free!) meal at the Walt Disney World Resort!
My own eating habits have ranged from mostly meatless to strictly vegetarian and back again (some of my friends just call me picky, but that's a discussion for another day). No matter which variation of veggie I am at any given time, I've always been able to find a tasty meal at Walt Disney World.
For your dinner at the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, you can still
call ahead and note on your reservation that you're a vegetarian, but it's not necessary. Once you're seated, just let your server know you'd like a vegetarian menu. In the past, there have been a couple of pasta dishes and a roasted vegetable platter on the menu, so I'd expect something similar. You're also welcome to gobble up the sides, salad, and cornbread, most of which are vegetarian (although not necessarily vegan). I pretty much eat my weight in mashed potatoes, so I haven't ordered from the vegetarian menu in a while.
Also, while it's not on the menu, you can ask for macaroni & cheese! And do note that the cowboy baked beans have pork in them, so you'll want to avoid those.
During dinner, settle in for a hand-clappin', knee-slappin' good time courtesy of the Pioneer Hall Players. And make sure to save room for the highlight of the show - a fruity and fabulous dessert of strawberry shortcake!
I hope this helps you enjoy a stick-to-your-ribs (without the ribs, of course) dinner, Samantha! Stop on by and see us again sometime, ya hear?
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
