Aloha, Robert!
Welcome to planDisney and mahalo (thank means "thank you" in Hawaiian) for surfing by with your question. Robert, see the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me and it will call you too after you visit
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. We have been three times, most recently in August. So you have come to the right place because when it comes to Aulani, there's no place I'd rather be than riding the Hawaiian roller coaster ride there.
Robert, for starters, your kids are going to love the pool area. With two water slides to enjoy, the
Volcanic Vertical and the
Tubestone Curl that exits right into the Waikohole Stream (which is the lazy river), your Keiki are going to have so much fun during the day. I do recommend stopping for a shave ice (with Mickey Ears, of course) to refuel during their day of being wafaring warriors of the waterslides.
Another thing that is a must-do is the
Menehune Adventure Trail. This is an interactive treasure hunt in the pool area that brings scenery to life right before your very eyes and reveals hidden treasures on property that you can't normally see. You can check out a complimentary tablet from the Pua Hana Community Room to begin your adventure and it's so much fun.
I do recommend the
KA WA'A Luau as well, which is right on property. You need to make a reservation for this and I recommend the preferred seating option. If you are unable to find an opening on the Aulani website, call the Holoholo Desk and they can access inventory that may not be showing online. That's how we got our tickets.
Speaking of dining, a character breakfast at
Makahiki restaurant and a sunset meal at
'Ama 'Ama are also top of my list as well. Keep your camera ready as both of these locations will create memories you will definitely want to keep.
Certainly, go for a snorkel in the
Rainbow Reef and if you want to enjoy the beach area, you can rent paddle boards and equipment from
Makiki Joe's. If you are an eligible Disney Vacation Club Member, you can take advantage of any available discounts at this location as well.
Finally, your kids are eligible to spend some time in Aunty's Beach House. Not only is this a fun kids club, but some of the activities are cultural in nature and it's a great way to learn about Hawaii and Hawaiian culture while visiting the islands.
Be sure to download the
Aulani App to your phone so you can check the Daily 'Iwa. This is where you will be kept up to date on all that is happening each and every day at the Resort. There's so much to do at Aulani, you are going to love it. Because when the magic of Disney meets the spirit of Aloha, it is a truly special family vacation indeed.
If you have any further questions, surf back here to see me and I'll be glad to help you. At planDisney, we are your vacation planning 'ohana. 'Ohana means family, and that means nobody gets left behind.
