Hello, We will be in AK on 01/28/17. The last couple of times we were there, the Flame Tree BBQ was closed for renovations. What was done in the renovations? Thanks, 17 days til WDW!

Hi, Edward! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Just 17 more days? Yay! Disney countdowns are the best!

Just thinking about Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney’s Animal Kingdom gives me a “rumbly in my tumbly”- as Pooh would say! The smokehouse meats and chicken dishes, pulled pork sandwiches, and those delicious signature Baked Beans, what’s not to love?  Well, get your stretchy pants ready because it is, in fact, open and ready to welcome you in just 17 days! Give or take.

When you arrive, you’ll notice there were some additional covered seating and ordering areas updated during the recent refurbishment. There were also some delicious additions to the menu like a yummy looking Watermelon Salad and Jamaican Jerk Chicken dish.

After you’re done enjoying your delicious meal at Flame Tree Barbecue, make sure you check out some of the new nighttime offerings like the Nocturnal Encounters on the Kilimanjaro Safari ride or if you’re up for a thrill ride, Expedition Everest at night is an entirely new experience!

I hope you have a wonderful time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and be sure to come back and let me know how you enjoyed some of those new dishes!

    Kwaherini,
