Greetings, Kristen, and welcome to planDisney! I love that your friends want to share the magic of the Disneyland Resort with your son. Let's talk about the tickets.
The current
Anaheim Resident ticket offer requires Guests to provide proof of eligible residency, such as a valid government-issued photo ID. Guests ages 17 and younger using this offer need to enter the park with an adult who can prove eligibility. I chatted with a Cast Member and confirmed this to be the case. That means that, unfortunately, your friends may run into an issue at the ticket gate in the scenario you asked about.
You have a few options. The Anaheim Resident offer is
valid for a little while longer. You can try to see if there's a day between now and October 8 when you can all go together, and you can purchase the discounted tickets for your family. It's a fantastic deal. Alternatively, you can purchase a
regularly priced child ticket for your son so your friends can take him on the day they planned. If they have flexibility to go mid-week, there are some 1-Day Tier 0 child tickets currently priced at $98, which is still a good value.
Three is such a fun age to enjoy the attractions, Characters, and shows at the Disneyland Resort. My kids love exploring all the interactive elements of Mickey's Toontown, going for a spin on Mad Tea Party, sailing around on the Mark Twain Riverboat, and so much more. Plus, enjoying a Dole Whip while watching the show at the Enchanted Tiki Room is the perfect midday break. On top of all that, the Resort has an extra festive feel right now for
Halloween Time.
Kristen, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news today. I really hope that your family will find its way to the Happiest Place on Earth soon. If you think of any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help!
Your pal,
Kriss
