    Hello, My son has allergies to shellfish, tree nuts and peanuts. We were looking at possibly eating at a buffet for dinner (Boma). Are they able to accommodate food allergies? Thanks.

    Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love dinner at Boma - Flavors of Africa as there are so many tasty options to enjoy! My son has multiple food allergies, so I know how difficult it can be to accommodate food allergies at buffets. However, we have successfully eaten at multiple buffets at Walt Disney World Resort and we have had wonderful experiences where the Chefs have taking amazing care to ensure he has a tasty and safe meal while they accommodate his Special Dietary Requests! A great resource for information is the Special Diets Team. You can email them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com to get information about accommodating your son's specific allergies during your vacation. When you make your dining reservation, you will want to be sure to include his Special Dietary Request on your reservation either when you book it online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 to add it to an existing reservation. When you arrive at the restaurant, be sure to remind your server of your son's food allergies. The Chef will come to your table to discuss your son's dining options. In many cases, Chefs have brought out food for my son directly from the kitchen to ensure it is safe for him since he often cannot eat from a buffet due to cross-contamination concerns, often times preparing food for him that isn't even an option from the buffet!
