    Hello.My question is on the upcoming Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January,2015. This is our third race, and we are DVC members. are you able to walk to/from the start/finish lines from any resort? What about the monorail? Looking for convenience!

    Don't you just love being a Disney Vacation® Member! I am a member as well and it sure has changed how we vacation. As they say, membership has it's privileges- including early registration and/or discounted prices on runDisney events! 

    Congratulations on your decision to participate in the 2015 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend Presented by Cigna®. This is runDisney's premier event of the year. When trying to select your Disney Vacation Club accommodations for this weekend, selecting a Monorail resort is a great idea as the Monorail will be operating to transport runners to the Start Zone. Another great option are the Epcot® area resorts, you're only a short bus ride away from all the race action. With regard to walking to the starting line, new policies have recently been implemented that prohibit runners from accessing this area on foot; you could risk being disqualified, and it's for the safety of all runners. 

    My favorite choice for race weekend accommodations is Disney's Beach Club Resort and Villas. I love being only a 10 minute bus ride away from the Start Zone. Plus, there are a plethora of dining and entertainment options within walking distance of this charming resort. Not to mention they have the best pool on property with Stormalong Bay. It's the perfect mix of running and relaxation when you select this resort for your runDisney-cation.
