Hello! My husband recieved DAS the last time we went to Disney World as he’s a disabled veteran. This time we are planning to visit again, but with family friends. Would they be able to stand in the DAS lines with us? Or just our immediate family. Thanks!

    Hi there, Lauren!

From one military spouse to another, welcome to planDisney! Thank you for your service and sacrifices. Using the Disability Access Service (DAS) is super useful for avoiding longer attraction queues when someone in your party has trouble with waiting in queues (for various reasons). Let's get into the specifics of using this service.

First of all, make sure that your husband speaks to a friendly Cast Member using the online pre-registration process before your visit. If he doesn't register beforehand, he may also stop by Guest Services on the first day of your vacation. It's important that a Cast Member determines his DAS eligibility--and for him to get his first Lightning Lane return time. Qualifying Guests can use DAS for up to 60 days before needing to register again.

Now, the ridiculously good news: The benefits that come with having DAS work for up to five additional party members (that's six Mouseketeers in total). Make sure that your family friends are on your Disney account's Family & Friends List. They will be able to wait in the Lightning Lane queues with you and your husband.

Lauren, if you have any additional questions, please revisit us here at planDisney. I'm all ears!

    Magic always,
