Congratulations, Dee!
I'm so glad to hear that you are booked on your first magical voyage on the Disney Dream. Sailing on the
Halloween on the High Seas voyage is simply an amazing experience for you and your family. It will be tough to spend Halloween elsewhere -- since you'll end up comparing it to the awesomeness onboard the Disney Cruise ship!
Decorating your stateroom door is absolutely allowed on the Disney Cruise ships. My family does this simply because it makes finding our stateroom door much easier -- it's a long hallway of doors, and finding your own is much easier when you've got all sorts of family bling on it. The steel stateroom doors make it easy for magnets to cling on, so the magnetic strips/rolls that you get at the craft store works well to hang up your magnetic signs. Walking through the hallways is always extra fun checking out what families do on their doors -- they can get really creative! When we sailed in October last year for Halloween, we had an awesome time walking the halls, just checking out the different door decorations!
Don't forget your Pirate Gear AND your Halloween Costumes for this cruise. The Mickey Mouse-querade Party is so much fun... and the kids at the Youth Clubs have a great time during their Halloween parties as well. Expect to take lots of pictures. Halloween will never be the same!
Please let us know if you have any additional questions to help you plan for your spooktacular voyage. We're always happy to help.
Happy planning, Dee!
