Hello, My girlfriend has never been to Disneyland and it is her dream to visit. We have been together for 7 years and I'm planning on taking her next year, im also thinking of proposing to her. Do I have to contact the park? And any recommendations?

    Hello Francisco!

Warmest welcome to planDisney! Thank you for your most engaging question!

A proposal at the Disneyland Resort sounds like the perfect start to your happily ever after! It can be as simple as dropping to one knee in front of the castle or as elaborate as a grand gesture involving more planning. Either way, your proposal will be so magical!

While you are not required to contact Disney in order to propose, you may want to if you'd like to plan an elaborate proposal. If so, you should reach out to Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons. The specialists in this department can provide support and ideas to make sure everything goes smoothly when you pop the question.

If you prefer something simple, you can simply allow the Disney PhotoPass photographers to capture the moment. You may want to discreetly give them a little heads-up that you are planning to propose. But, I’ve certainly seen them spring into action without any warning and still capture beautiful proposal pictures!

After your engagement, you’ll want to celebrate, right?! May I suggest a romantic dinner for two? My top three recommendations for a celebratory dinner are Blue Bayou Restaurant at Disneyland Park, Carthay Circle Restaurant at Disney California Adventure Park and Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Each location provides delectable cuisine with an unforgettable atmosphere. Reservations can be made on the Disneyland website or on the Disneyland Mobile App. But, don’t fret if you’re unable to secure a reservation. Many restaurants have a walk-up list that you can join via the Disneyland Mobile App.

And, don’t forget to let everyone know you are celebrating by grabbing a complimentary button from Guest Relations

Cheers to the start of your beautiful story!
