Hello, My family is flying to Disney for the first time at the end of April. My kiddos are 7 and 9 yrs old. Are 2 days enough time to visit the Magic Kingdom? Thanks

Hi Alda! Welcome to planDisney! I am so excited for you and your family that you will be visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few weeks and for the first time! I have wonderful memories of taking my children for their first Disney vacation, and there is just something truly magical about seeing their faces light up the first time they see Cinderella Castle or hearing their giggles when they discover their favorite rides. Those first moments of Disney magic will stay with you forever!

You have a great plan with two days at Magic Kingdom Park! That will give you enough time that you shouldn't feel rushed. To make the most of your time, you might consider conquering a few lands one day and doing the others the next day. Magic Kingdom has six themed lands that include: Main Street, U.S.A., Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Liberty Square, Frontierland, and Adventureland. Each land has its own unique story, so there are loads of rides and entertainment to enjoy throughout the park! Your kids are probably going to love Fantasyland, so plan some extra time there!

Some can’t-miss attractions for their age group are Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Tomorrowland Speedway. Also, be sure to plan ahead to see both the daytime parade Disney Festival of Fantasy and the nighttime parade Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. Then stay for the Happily Ever After fireworks to end a perfect day!

To make the most of your two days in the park, you might also want to consider purchasing Lightning Lane passes. These will allow you to reserve times to visit attractions and enter a shorter line. With Lightning Lane, you can experience more attractions and make sure you can fit everything in during your two days in the parks!

One more bonus tip: Be sure to pick up complimentary 1st Visit buttons! You can ask for these at your resort hotel front desk, City Hall in Magic Kingdom, or most merchandise locations. For extra special buttons, visit Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. For only about $5 a person, you can get a button with beautiful and personalized handwritten art. This is one of my favorite inexpensive souvenirs that also becomes a keepsake!

Alda, I’m so excited for you and hope you have the most magical vacation! It’s just around the riverbend now, so come back and see us if you have any more questions before your arrival. Sending you lots of pixie dust!

    Your pal,
    Casey
