Hello, My boyfriend and I have a one day park hopper ticket for his first trip to Disney! I was thinking to start at Magic Kingdom for the classic Disney and then possibly go to Epcot from there. I wanted to see if there is an itinerary we could follow?

    Howdy Sara!

Welcome to planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. It looks like you are just a few days away from visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth, and could use a little help creating a plan to maximize your time visiting the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT with the park hopper tickets you have purchased.  Like my friend Tigger, let's get bouncing to it!

Alrighty, so I checked the park hours for that day, and the Magic Kingdom opens at 9 AM. If you happen to be staying at Walt Disney World Resort or a Good Neighbor Hotel, then you have access to Early Entry at 8:30 AM. Since I’m not quite sure, I’m going to go with plans for a 9 AM entry. I would arrive at the park at 8 AM if possible, so that you can enter at rope drop. This is also a great opportunity to be welcomed into the park by Mickey and his pals. Ok, so from there I would plan to start your journey in Adventureland with Jungle Cruise, followed by Pirates of the Caribbean. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is also a classic show that I love. While you’re here, I would definitely stop at Aloha Isle for a Dole Whip. From here, I would make my way over Frontierland to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure if you don’t mind the possibility of getting a little wet. Now grab a churro on your way through Liberty Square to the Haunted Mansion. Next, you are going to make your way to Fantasyland. There are so many classic rides that you can experience here that, depending on how you’re doing on time, you might want to prioritize which rides you want to do most. Here you will also find a favorite coaster of mine, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. I would highly recommend considering purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass for this, since you only have 1 day in the parks. Ok, if you are a little hungry by now, there are quite a few great options for a quick bite. I would check the My Disney Experience app once you are hungry to see what your options are. You can also order mobility at many restaurants, saving you valuable time. Onward to Tomorrowland, where I think y’all will love Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and Tron Lightcycle / Run. This is another ride I would highly recommend purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass for. If you have time for a quick laugh, stop by Monter’s Inc Laugh Floor. Before you leave, I would check out all of the amazing shops on Main Street USA to pick up any souvenirs you may want.

Ok, now let’s make our way over to EPCOT. You can exit the Magic Kingdom and hop on one of my favorite modes of transportation, the Monorail. Ok, now, depending on how you are doing on time for the day, here are my top rides and experiences I would do while here. Soarin’ Around the World, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Test Track, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and one of my all-time favorites, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This is also a ride that you should absolutely consider getting a Lightning Lane Single Pass for. If you have time, there are a few other rides and experiences here that you should do as well; you can find them in the My Disney Experience app. There are also a ton of great places to have dinner while here. Now, before you leave, catch the amazing nighttime spectacular Luminous: The Symphony of US.

Sara, I sincerely hope that you have the most magical time park hopping and enjoying all that the parks have to offer.  If you have any further questions, please HOP back by, and my friends and I here at planDisney will be happy to help.

    See ya real soon,
    Robert
