Hello, My birthday is next week and I wanted to make the drive up from Palm Beach County. I really don't want to take I4 and 95, so what is the next best route to get there? And what times are best to arrive and depart?

Hi there, Lindsay, and welcome to planDisney! Happy early birthday to you! There's no place like Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate a special occasion, and I'm so happy you've chosen to head to the Most Magical Place on Earth to commemorate your birthday.

Lindsay, as a visual learner, I love navigating to my next destination with the help of a map. The map I checked indicated that the fastest route to Walt Disney World Resort from Palm Beach County, Florida, is via I-95. However, if you take US 441 N, it looks like the route is only about half an hour longer, for a total of just under three hours.

If you're only coming for one day, I recommend making it a full day! Plan to arrive about 45 minutes before the park opens to give yourself time to park and make your way to the park entrance. If you're headed to Magic Kingdom Park, you can enter and hang out on Main Street, U.S.A., for about an hour before the park's posted opening time. Use this time to shop, eat, and take photos before heading to your favorite attraction.

Be sure to stop by Guest Relations when you arrive and pick up a complimentary button that you can wear to let everyone know you're celebrating your birthday. Cast Members will love wishing you a happy birthday throughout your visit. You might also consider booking a reservation at your favorite restaurant! Each theme park offers amazing dining options, so be sure to check them out in advance. I'd be happy to give you recommendations for the perfect restaurant if you'd like to ask me a follow-up question!

If you're like me and enjoy consulting a handy map, be sure to download the My Disney Experience Mobile App. The map feature will show you the location of everything from restaurants to Character experiences, and you'll even be able to get helpful directions as you move throughout the park.

Lindsay, I hope you have the very best time celebrating your birthday next week! Please stop by planDisney with any other questions!

    See ya real soon!
