Hello, My adult daughter and I are going to Disneyland Park for one day In May. How do you suggest we plan our day to make the most of the one day we have in the Park. Kindest regards

Hey there, hi there, Vanita! Welcome to planDisney. We are happy you stopped by with a planning question for us!

I am so excited to hear that you are having a mom-and-daughter day at The Happiest Place on Earth. This sounds so special! If you are doing one park day at Disneyland Park there are two immediate recommendations that come to mind. The first would be to try to be there for rope drop and the second would be to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

For rope drop, if the park is opening at 8:00 a.m. on the day of your visit, I recommend being at the gates by 7:30 a.m. at the latest. This is because I have found that the first two hours after park opening tend to be the time that you can get in quite a few attractions with lower wait times. Lightning Lane Multi Pass will make sure you are able to experience shorter wait times throughout the rest of the day. If you haven't already purchased Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can do this in the Disneyland app as soon as you are scanned into the park.

My other recommendation is to talk with your daughter and discuss what both of your top must-dos are and what you really want to experience in the parks and prioritize those! You can also save time by opting for quick service options at meals and save even more time by mobile ordering in the Disneyland app at participating locations. I love being able to be in an attraction queue and order my next meal or snack and then walk off the attraction and be able to pick it up!

Vanita, I hope you and your daughter have a magical visit. If you have any other questions for us be sure to stop by again!

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
