Hi Stephanie!
Thanks for pulling up a chair to planDisney! As soon as I read your question, visions of Tonga Toast danced in my head. Kona Cafe definitely has a wide array of Asian-inspired dishes in the perfect setting of the Great Ceremonial House at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Being sushi fans, our favorite feature of the restaurant is the onstage sushi kitchen. It IS food art, so it's wonderful to be able to see the sushi chefs at work.
Ooh, I like the way you think! Can’t decide between breakfast and lunch options? Then order both! After reading the menu selections for breakfast and lunch, I can totally understand why you are torn.
Banana-stuffed Tonga Toast and Macadamia Nut Pancakes on the one hand, and Poke Bowls, Sushi, and Glazed Chicken Wings on the other. Choose it all!
At present time,
Kona Cafe generally serves breakfast from 7:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by lunch service starting at 11:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Since there is a gap between breakfast and lunch items being served, I suggest a late reservation for breakfast (say 10:30-10:45 A.M.) that would allow you to overlap the lunch service. That way, you could create a brunch for yourselves and be able to order lunch dishes once the kitchen starts with lunch service! Ask your server what your menu choices would be and that you would like to possibly order from the lunch menu. You never know how the creative Cast Members will work their magic!
So happy you served up your planning question to planDisney. We are here to assist you anytime as you add all the ingredients to complete your Walt Disney World vacation "recipe." We hope to see ya real soon!
