Hello! Is there a “grace period” for being late to a dining reservation before your reservation is no longer honored?

    Hi there, Sheila!

Thanks for visiting planDisney with your question.

One of the best parts of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation (well, of ANY vacation!) is planning where to eat. With close to 400 dining experiences offered at Walt Disney World, there's certainly something to please every palate! While my family definitely has some favorite spots to dine when we visit Walt Disney World, we always make an effort to try something new each time we're there!

It's always important to make Advance Dining Reservations for Table Service restaurants, as many locations are very popular and will not allow walk-ups. When arriving for your dining reservation, you'll be asked to check in on the My Disney Experience mobile app. On my device, I typically receive a push notification that tells me when it's time to check-in for our meal. From my experience, I've checked in while walking to the dining venue, only to have them already ready to seat us when I've arrived a few minutes later. I've also checked in and then had to wait for a bit before being seated. I've also arrived late for a dining reservation and was told it was no longer available, however, was able to be seated after a short wait - whew! We were right at around the fifteen-minute mark on that day, so I think that's probably a bit over the "grace period" Guests are allowed.

I'm sure you must be counting down the days until your Walt Disney World Resort vacation - it's right around the corner! Please let us know if you have more questions before your trip.
    Have a magical day!
