Hi Kit! What a wonderful time of year to be planning a family visit. The holidays at
Disneyland Resort truly feel like stepping into a classic storybook, and it is one of my favorite seasons to visit.
While the official holiday dates for 2026 have not been released yet, Disneyland Resort tends to follow a very consistent rhythm each year. Historically, the holiday season begins in mid November, shortly after Halloween ends. As a point of reference, the 2025 holiday season kicked off on November 14. To feel confident that you will arrive to fully decorated parks, festive entertainment, and all the seasonal touches in place, I would plan to visit at a time after the historical start dates.
One of my favorite parts of visiting during the holidays is how immersive the experience feels beyond just decorations. Seasonal ride overlays, special holiday treats throughout the parks, and live entertainment like the holiday
parade make each day feel extra special. This year, the Christmas Fantasy Parade was SO much fun to dance and sing along to, as I watched from Main Street, U.S.A. Pro tip: curb side out front of
Main Street Cinema was a fantastic place to watch, but get there early, it's a popular spot! I also love taking time to explore the resort
hotels during the season. Even if you are not staying onsite, walking through the lobbies to see the towering Christmas trees and seasonal displays is a tradition I never skip.
Because holiday dates are officially announced closer to the season, I recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the most up to date information. Once dates are shared, dining and experiences tend to book quickly for Christmas time, so having your plans ready will give you a great head start.
I hope your family visit is filled with twinkling lights, warm treats, and plenty of holiday memories. If more questions pop up as you plan, I would be happy to help.
Happy Holidays!
Kimberly
