Hello, I'm shopping for Magic Bands for my family's DLR trip. I'm seeing more designs in photos from the parks than I am for sale online. Are these park exclusive, or will more be released online soon? Should I wait to buy them? Thanks!

    Hey there, Matthew!

Welcome to planDisney, it's so great to have you here! I am always up for a little digital Disney shopping, so let's get right to it.

My family and I love using MagicBand+ at Disneyland Resort! It makes things like park entry and Lightning Lane queues so easy, and I really love when we run into an extra bit of magical interaction. As far as shopping for your bands, you'll definitely find some MagicBand+ options on shopDisney...but those aren't the only ones available! Some band designs are exclusive to the Disneyland Resort. If you see a design on shopDisney then I would go ahead and order it, but if you don't find the perfect style for your family there will totally be more options in the parks!

There are also new MagicBand+ designs released all the time. For example, I see a special one for the new Little Mermaid design in honor of the live-action film! Purchasing a band and pairing it with your phone through the Disneyland Mobile App is pretty quick, so don't worry if you decide to wait and purchase your bands when you arrive at the resort. You can purchase the bands in Downtown Disney as well as inside both parks in plenty of locations.

Setting up your MagicBand+ just takes a few minutes! When you open the Disneyland Mobile app just tap on the "≡" icon to open the main menu and select "MagicBand+" to get started. Once a band is linked to your account you can assign it to a theme park ticket and you're on your way! I love that the app even lets users customize the color of the lights on the band. Make sure when you open your band that you keep track of the charging cord, they're very unique and a little hard to spot in the package!

There are new MagicBand+ surprises all the time! Take a look at these dazzling interactions that make you and your family part of the magic for the Disney100 Celebration! My little Padawans love to play Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters with their MagicBand+ to guide them across the galaxy as they collect rewards for their hard work. You'll also find your band interacting with entertainment and attractions around the parks. My favorite MagicBand+ moment came when I was least expecting it...make sure you're paying attention for any last farewells from the Ghost Host as you leave the Haunted Mansion!

I'm sending you all my pixie dust for a magical visit, Matthew!

    Keep moving forward!
