Well hello and welcome to planDisney, Cynthia. We're so glad you're here and brought this question to us.
How exciting that you are getting ready to plan a trip to the Disneyland Resort. It can definitely feel overwhelming at times and we're here to help with advice and answer any questions you may have. Because you're looking for both hotel reservations and theme park tickets, I recommend taking a look at the
Disneyland Vacation Package offerings. Vacation packages include both your hotel stay and theme park tickets and you have the choice to stay on resort property at a
Disneyland Resort Hotel or at a nearby
Good Neighbor Hotel.
When purchasing a vacation package, you will be required to pay a $200 deposit (deposit amount subject to change) at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be due 30 days prior to your arrival date, however, you can also make payments towards the remaining balance along the way. You will receive your theme park tickets via email four days before your arrival date. A valid theme park ticket and theme park reservation are both required for entrance into both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Theme park reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance and I recommend making your reservations as soon as you possibly can.
You can book your vacation package directly at the Disneyland site, or you can also reach out to a friendly
Cast Member for help with Vacation Packages and for help completing your booking. You can also conduct an internet search for an authorized Disney Vacation Planner in your area for assistance with booking your vacation package. Airfare is not included in any of the vacation packages booked directly at the Disneyland site, however, an authorized travel agent would be able to assist with this.
As Walt Disney said, "To all who come to this happy place: Welcome." Disneyland is a place where everyone is welcome and where everyone belongs. My husband is also legally blind and we love how inclusive and accessible the Disneyland Resort makes his visits. The Disneyland Resort offers some wonderful
Services for Guests with Disabilities. With my husband's visual impairment, we've found
services for guests with visual disabilities extremely helpful. Notably, we recently discovered
Disney's Handheld Device. He uses this device for the audio description which has allowed him to have a fully immersive and enriching experience on attractions and throughout the park.
The handheld device also offers Assistive Listening and Handheld Captioning. The devices are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are available at City Hall in Disneyland Park and the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park. There's a small deposit to rent the device and you'll receive a refund when you return it at the end of the day. Our insider tip: bring your own headphones (with a typical mini jack) to use with the device.
I hope this has been helpful, Cynthia. If you think of other questions as you continue down your planning path, please come back to ask us -
even write me directly. Here's wishing you a most magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
