Hello, Sydney,
Welcome to planDisney. You've come to the right place. As fellow Guests like you, my fellow planDisney Panelists and I are thrilled to share personal advice based on our many combined experiences aboard the Disney Cruise Line and at other Disney experiences.
During many Disney Cruise Line vacations to a variety of destinations, my family and I have enjoyed countless wonderful experiences. But sometimes, things outside our control can interfere somewhat with keeping things going as smoothly as we'd prefer. There have been some moments during our evening Rotational Dining experiences on Disney cruises when a member of our party has felt quite exhausted from a long day of exciting Port Adventures or maybe even had a tummy ache. When they have felt like they simply can't finish their meal and need to leave dinner early, our incredible dining service team has always bent over backwards to ensure everyone's needs are met.
At times, when a member of our party still has much of their meal remaining, our servers have lent a cover to place on the dinner plate and allow us to take the meal back to our stateroom to enjoy later. Keep in mind that most staterooms do not have a means of reheating food and most appliances for that purpose would not be allowed onboard. Food may also need to be consolidated or transferred to another container to fit inside the stateroom beverage cooler. We've sometimes done something like that to enjoy a yummy treat later.
Although my mother taught me well to clean my plate at meal times, on a Disney cruise, we need not feel obligated to consume everything that comes out from the kitchen during dinner. There have been many times when I have felt too full to take another bite, no matter how scrumptious the menu item is. So I've reluctantly had to part ways with quite a few magical morsels remaining before heading off to our next fun activity onboard. But inevitably, all that fun we continue to have, even late into the night, gives me something of a rumbly in my tumbly. That's when I remember that there are many, many more options to enjoy as well. From a variety of food and beverage choices located on the pool deck, to appetizers in select lounges, virtually unlimited soft-serve ice cream, to concession stands outside the theaters, to 24-hour room service, I am confident that you will not need to go hungry should you need to munch on something delicious at a later time. What's even better is that most of those options are included with your Disney cruise!
I'm excited for you to experience the Disney Destiny, Sydney. My daughter is a little jealous that some of our family already got to experience the Haunted Mansion Parlor on a cruise last year. But I can't wait to show it to her on another family cruise next year aboard the Destiny. Currently, the Disney Wish is her favorite ship. But I'm pretty sure the Destiny will convince her to have a new favorite soon.
Enjoy your cruise, Sydney!
