Ahoy there, Ayako! Thanks so much for sailing over to planDisney with another excellent question. I see that you are departing on the
Disney Adventure next week, and I'm sure you are getting so excited! Let's chat about pin trading on
Disney Cruise Line, so you're all set to find some new favorites during your voyage.
My girls have been avid pin traders since they were very young, and any Disney adventure - whether on land or at sea - involves packing plenty of pins! On Disney Cruise Line sailings, you will typically be able to find pins in the shops, including mystery pin boxes and special pins for the ships and some of the destinations they visit. Many Cast Members also have pins on a lanyard or pin board that they will be happy to trade!
Guests often bring cork boards or ribbon and hang them outside of their stateroom door with pins available for trading, so it's always fun to wander the corridors a bit and see what you can find. Be sure you leave a pin for that person if you take one! I also recommend bringing a lanyard and stocking it up with any pins you would like to trade. You will see other folks out and about with their own collection, and it's a great conversation starter that may end in a trade for a new favorite pin!
Most DCL itineraries also include an Officer Pin Trading event, when the cruise officers will be in a designated location with pins for trade. It's fun to meet some of the Cast Members who are keeping the ship running, and another opportunity to add to your collection.
Ayako, once you are on board the Adventure, check out the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for a complete schedule of activities during your cruise. This will be your go-to, so you are up to speed on all of the fun things happening throughout the sailing - including any pin-related events.
I hope this information is helpful as you're getting ready to set sail on the Adventure, Ayako! Please come back and see our planDisney crew again if we can help with any other questions before your departure. We're always happy to help!
SEA Ya Real Soon!
