Hey there, hi there, ho there, Jenny! You're as welcome as can be here at
planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question!
I'm happy to report that you absolutely have some flexibility when it comes to paying for your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel room-only reservation. You can definitely use a different credit card to pay the remaining balance than the card you originally used to make your reservation. The credit card used for your initial payment does not lock you into using that same card for the rest of your hotel balance.
If you'd prefer to wait until you arrive, you can provide the new credit card when you check in at your Disney hotel and use it to take care of your remaining room balance. Just make sure to have the card you'd like to use available when you arrive so a Cast Member can help you.
You can also pay your remaining balance before your vacation if you'd rather have everything taken care of ahead of time! However, there's one important difference between a room-only reservation and a Walt Disney World vacation package. With a room-only reservation, you won't be able to simply log into your My Disney Experience account or use the
My Disney Experience mobile app to make additional payments toward your balance online.
Instead, you'll need to call the
Walt Disney World Help Center and speak with a friendly Cast Member. Let them know that you'd like to make a payment toward your Disney Resort hotel reservation, and they'll be able to help you use the new credit card.
Personally, I love taking care of as many vacation expenses as possible before I arrive. There's something so nice about checking in knowing that the big expenses are already out of the way and my vacation budget can be dedicated to snacks, souvenirs, and all the extra Disney fun!
Jenny, I hope this makes managing your reservation a little easier. If any other questions pop up while you're planning your trip, please come back and visit us again!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
