Hi there, Heloisa, and welcome to planDisney!
There's nothing quite like seeing your favorite Disney films come to life at Walt Disney World Resort, and Magic Kingdom Park's
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is brimming with classic Disney magic! You'll surely be tapping your foot and singing along as characters from films such as Peter Pan, Tangled, and The Little Mermaid make their way along the route. Of course, no parade would be complete without appearances from iconic Disney Princesses and everyone's favorite magical power couple, so be sure to keep an eye out for their floats that beautifully bookend Festival of Fantasy! While the floats are unparalleled, I'm personally partial to the characters that traverse the parade route on foot, dancing and greeting the crowd as they go. Just last month Chip noticed my Chip 'n Dale ears and ran over for a hug mid-parade. It was such a delightful surprise!
Because the Festival of Fantasy Parade provides a chance to see so many beloved Disney characters, it is quite popular with Guests who often begin securing spots on Main Street, U.S.A. hours in advance. Personally, I would rather spend that time enjoying other magical aspects of Magic Kingdom Park, so I'm happy to provide you with a few tips for maximizing your day while also securing a great view of the parade.
- Guests who purchase Disney Genie+ service can reserve a Lightning Lane to access a designated viewing area for the Festival of Fantasy Parade. This priority viewing area is located in The Hub directly in front of Cinderella Castle, so if you're hoping for a magical backdrop for your view of the pixie-dusted parade, then this is the spot for you!
- Personally, I love to catch parades and cavalcades in Frontierland. This tends to be a less popular area among Guests, so I'm usually able to snag a front-row view by popping over about 15 minutes before the parade begins. Additionally, because the parade route begins in this area, you'll have the chance to hop on an attraction after seeing Mickey and Minnie while the Main Street, U.S.A. Guests are still anxiously awaiting their arrival.
Because all viewing spots (even in the Lightning Lane section) are available to Guests on a first-come-first-served basis, if you'd like a front-row view, you'll likely need to arrive roughly at the same time regardless of which of the previously mentioned options you choose. If viewing the parade on Main Street, U.S.A. is a must-do for you, then I'd recommend the Lightning Lane option, but if you'd like to save a bit on money or prioritize your Lightning Lane entries for other experiences, then I'd suggest that you giddy-up on over to Frontierland.
I hope this was helpful, Heloisa, and that
dreams will come true, hearts will soar, and you will become a part of the magic as you enjoy the Festival of Fantasy Parade. If any additional questions arise as you plan, feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
