Welcome to planDisney, Erika! Your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is coming up quickly. As Mickey would say, "Hot Dog!"
I'm glad you came to planDisney with your question about your trip to
Walt Disney World Resort. Traveling with a large group can be so much fun. But, oh boy, sometimes you may not all want to do the same things. Generally, people in a group can split up and enjoy Walt Disney World as they want. There are a couple of things to keep in mind as you plan for your days on your own.
You must be at least 14 years old to enter
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT,
Disney's Hollywood Studios or
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park without an accompanying adult.
If you are traveling with a school or other organized group, they may have specific plans. Any changes to the schedule, including the theme parks you choose to visit, would need to be approved and arranged by the group leaders.
Aside from these considerations, if you are using a date-based 1-day ticket, Annual Pass or other ticket that requires a
theme park reservation, just make sure your reservations align with your plans.
If you are going in different directions, I'd recommend tickets with the
Park Hopper Option. I have one child who loves
Expedition Everest. On a recent quick trip, we did not have enough time to spend a day in each theme park. He and I headed to Animal Kingdom Theme Park to be there when it opened and caught up with the rest of the family at EPCOT later in the morning. Having Park Hopper made it a lot easier to go where we wanted to without being separated all day.
I hope you and everyone in your group have a trip filled with magic and pixie dust. Please come back to
planDisney with any other questions.
Adventure is out there!
