Hello, I was wondering if the port Orleans riverside resort had drip coffee makers or a pod system? Not that it will matter much because by the time I get there, Starbucks will be open. :)) Thanks so much. Love the blog

    Hi, Jill!

The coffeemaker at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort are typical of those found in moderate resorts these days. They have a small basket which pulls out where Guests can insert a pouch of coffee, similar to a pod, but larger. These pouches are perfect for a small pot of coffee; I like my coffee very strong, so I'll use one pouch for two small cups of coffee. Others may use that same pouch for four small cups.

Your coffee supplies will be refreshed daily, but if you think that you'll need more than that (or prefer a particular brand / brew) then you can surely bring some of your own. I've picked up similar-sized pouches in my local grocery store, and have even simply used a few of those smaller pods in the basket, too. The key is to use the right amount of water, so estimate how many cups of coffee you would normally have enjoyed from the pouch / pod you bring with you, then pour in a tiny bit more than that to allow for some evaporation.

If you'd like a closer look at this fabulous resort, head over to the unofficial, fan-created site AllEars.Net. Click on the Search tab and enter the resort name in the blank. Once your results are shown, select the one entitled "Port Orleans-Riverside Fact Sheet and Video." Next, click on "Photo Gallery," where you'll find plenty of photos from throughout the resort, including lots of shots of one of the Guest rooms, too. Warning: viewing these pics will make you want to head to WDW today!
