Hey there, Nicole, and welcome to planDisney!
It's great that you're ready to get the ball rolling for your October visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. You're right on the money with that chill arrival day. Unpack your bags, chill by the pool, grab a meal, and get ready to have the time of your life. But as for what to do next, I've got you covered. I know you said arrival day is a resort day, so I'd consider planning a nice welcome meal with your family. For example, if you're staying at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort,
Wailulu Bar and Grill is a great way to kick off your stay. I've had great luck with their walk-up waitlist, and the views of Magic Kingdom fireworks at night are stunning. No matter where you're staying, make yourselves an Advanced Dining Reservation 60 days before your check-in date for a tasty start to your vacation.
If you haven't already, snag some tickets for
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for that Friday night. Don your best family costumes and haunt Magic Kingdom while picking up candy at the treat trails around the park. Enjoy special parade offerings, shows, and fireworks displays available only to party guests. Even if you decide not to hit the party, this is still a great day to visit Magic Kingdom. In my experience, party days tend to have lighter crowds during the day since people will have to leave the park early to make way for party guests.
You'll also want to make EPCOT a priority this visit.
The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival will be in full swing during your stay, and eating your way around the world is always a must-do.
Nicole, I hope I've given you a few ideas to make your trip magical. I wish I knew your resort and your length of stay so I could customize your experience more. If you have any other questions,
come back to see me for another chat. I'm happy to help you every step of the way.
Happy planning!
Taylor
