Welcome back to planDisney, Dakota!
Thank you for taking the time to send another great question our way. It has been a while since we had the chance to answer your last question, so we are thrilled to help you plan new adventures at the Walt Disney World Resort!
One of my favorite benefits as a Guest staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel is using a MagicBand, a Key to the World, or Disney MagicMobile service to charge purchases to my room folio during my stay. I find it very convenient to leave my wallet in the safe at the resort and travel as lightly as possible while exploring the theme parks.
Guests on a particular booking usually only have access to the 4-digit PIN required to charge purchases to the room folio if the primary Guest on the reservation shares the PIN after creating it. If you decide to share the PIN and regret it later, you can always reset it. To do so,
sign in to your Disney account, visit your
Profile, choose
Payment Method, and select
Reset Room Account PIN.
Please note, however, that if a Guest on your reservation has their own Disney account, they can create their own PIN, and you will not have access to it. If that is the case for other Guests in your travel party, I recommend having a conversation in advance to set clear rules on charging purchases to the room folio. You can keep track of your spending in the
My Disney Experience mobile app, which is a great tool to help you stay within your budget and avoid surprises. To locate this feature, open the app on your mobile device, scroll down to find your Disney Resort hotel reservation, tap “My Resort,” and then select the blue folder icon labeled “View Charges.” It may take a little time for purchases to be listed, but you can always stop by the Front Desk and request a list of all purchases charged to your room account. The original Guest who booked the reservation can also talk to Cast Members at the Front Desk to remove charging privileges from specific Guests on the reservation.
planDisney tip: My daughters love having their own money to spend on snacks and souvenirs at the Walt Disney World Resort, but since they do not have charging privileges, I always buy them
Disney Gift Cards. I think gift cards are an excellent option because you are able to decide how much the kids can spend, and they feel great having their own money.
It was a pleasure answering your question, Dakota. I hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical Disney vacation!
Best Disney wishes,
Thiana
