Hello, I am vacationing with my family which will include my 6 year old twin in May. I am debating two properties: Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans FQ. I love the amount of pools at CB but FQ seems so intimate and not a lot of walking necessary! Help!

    Hi Marissa,

I highly recommend Port Orleans French Quarter over the Caribbean Beach Resort for the exact reason that you mentioned. While the big themed pool is really cool at the Caribbean Beach Resort, the resort itself is immense. Depending on which village you are staying in, you need to take an internal shuttle just to get over to the quick service dining and themed pool. This can take up quite a bit of your valuable vacation time over the course of a week. Additionally, at the end of a long park day, you could end up sitting on the bus for up to a half hour longer as you wait for it to stop at each and every village to let guests off. I stayed in the Aruba village and I got tired of waiting for the internal shuttle so I walked to breakfast one morning in the rain. It took me 10 minutes to get there and I wasn't going slowly. I didn't have my little ones with me on that trip, but I made a mental note at the time that I would not stay there with them due to all of the added walking and wait time. It is simply a huge resort.

Port Orleans French Quarter on the other hand, is my favorite Moderate Resort. It is intimate and quaint. The Mardi Gras themed pool has a fun, giant sea serpent slide. While it isn't a big pirate ship, it is still a lot of fun and kids love it. As at guest of Port Orleans French Quarter, you are welcome to also use the pools at Port Orleans Riverside. So if you are wanting to try another pool, you can do that. There is jazz music playing in the background as you stroll along the beautifully landscaped grounds. At the end of the day, it is so much easier to get to your room which is always a big bonus when your kids (and you) are exhausted.

I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful vacation. Please let me know if I can assist you further,
