Hello I will be traveling to Walt Disney World in May and for the first time I am going to stay at one of the Epcot Resorts rather than the MK resorts. I will be traveling solo and was wondering if I should choose the Yacht Club or the Beach Club?

    Hi Traci,

What an exciting treat for you to get to experience the parks solo! I love traveling with my family, but every once and awhile it is fun to go on my own and get to go around the parks at my own pace doing whatever I want to do and see.

The Yacht and Beach Club is an amazing resort with a fabulous location. One of my favorite things about it is the convenient location to Epcot. You can literally stroll right to the International Gateway entrance, which is often much less crowded. In fact, I don't think I have ever stood in line there, even for the security bag check.

Since both resorts have the exact same amenities and benefits, the biggest factor in choosing I would say is the theming. The Yacht Club has a very nautical feel with beautiful hard wood floors in the lobby and gorgeous brass appointments. The rooms are adorned with a navy, white and red color theme and the nautical rope touches here and there. One of my favorite things in the room are the lamps with Mickey dressed as a boat captain.

On the other hand, the Beach Club has that summer fun feel of sandcastles and seashells with soothing pastel colors. The lobby is full of overstuffed chairs and beautiful potted plants. The room decor is a softer palate with beach scene details in the wallpaper and seashell touches on the throw pillows and in the bathrooms.

The Beach Club is closer to the entrance at Epcot, but the boat dock is closer to the Yacht Club. If you like having a quick-service grab and go coffee/breakfast option, Beach Club Marketplace is in the Beach Club. Both resorts are pretty convenient to Stormalong Bay, the amazing 3-acre pool area complete with lazy river, zero entry pool, water slide and so much more!

So, I hope all this information can help you make an informed decision based on your needs and wants! Have a magical time enjoying some "me-time"!
