Hi there, Abigail! Welcome to planDisney.
How wonderfully special that you are planning a first visit to the Disneyland Resort. Every Disney visit has its own magic, its own stories, and its own moments, but the first is a milestone! My children love hearing stories about their first visit: my son was enchanted by Mickey Mouse and would say "I see Mickey!" in his teeny baby voice every time he spotted the main Mouse. It was precious, and I'm excited about the precious memories of your own that you'll be making soon!
I'm happy to confirm that you may pick up celebration buttons at City Hall in Disneyland Park or at the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park. There is usually a variety of buttons celebrating your "1st Visit," happily ever after, or a standard "I'm Celebrating" that can be customized with a permanent marker. Just stop by to request your complimentary button, and then wear it proudly!
Be sure to stop and have your photos captured with a
Disney PhotoPass photographer, Abigail! I've seen some cute poses where you hold your buttons out - ask your photographer if they have any ideas for a special "first visit" pose. You could then create a fun shadowbox with your photo and buttons to freeze that special moment in time!
As you get ready to make amazing memories on your visit, check out
this Disney Parks Blog article that provides a checklist for returning to the magic as part of the
phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort. This helpful article will help you be prepared so you can focus on having fun. I recommend reading the Disney Parks Blog as you count down the days to your visit - they share great tips and news that will help you make the most of every magical minute. Come back and see us if you think of any further questions!
Wishing you a magical first visit,
Robyn
