Hi Alexandra!
Welcome to planDisney! We are a fellow military family, so we thank your fiancee for his service. Planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort can be such a great family experience! From selecting hotel stays, to dining experiences and attractions preferences, there is always an option for every member of your party to enjoy!
Alexandra, choosing a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is not an easy task. When my family and I have to sit down and decide our resort stay, we usually pick our top three and toss them in a hat, and whichever one is selected is the victor! That way it settles any future debate!
Disney's Art of Animation Resort has always been in our top three! We love the suites, which allows everyone to have their own space, and the kids are hugs fans of the Big Blue Pool! If you are looking for a value resort where you can stay close to your family, Art of Animation offers value rooms in the Little Mermaid section. These are regular guest rooms, not suites, and pricing is similar to that of
Disney's Pop Century Resort or
Disney's All Star Resorts. If you prefer to stay at a different value resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort is within walking distance to Art of Animation, and all the rooms at Pop Century have recently been renovated to include two queen sized bed and updated bath and dressing areas.
Disney offers
room discounts and
specially priced tickets for our military members who are active duty, 100% service connected disability or have retired from service. Currently, there are no discounts for tickets or resorts for veterans with honorable discharge.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
Malanie
