Hello! I am planning on staying at the Grand Floridian but l was wondering if l am allowed access to use the beach at the Polynesian resort.

    Hey There, Emilija!

Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for dropping by with a question about your Walt Disney World Resort visit.  I am so excited to hear about your upcoming stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa because it's definitely one of my all-time favorite Disney Resorts Collection hotels. For me, the Grand Floridian perfectly blends elegance and sophistication with a family-friendly atmosphere –– plus, any place that can make my traveling circus of four kids feel welcome is a winner in my book! I can't wait for you and your family to experience the magic of this beautiful Resort for yourselves during your visit!

But while the Grand Floridian might sit atop my list of Resort favorites, it just so happens to be fighting for the top spot with its next-door neighbor –– Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Personally, I think your plan to experience both of these Resorts is a great one and it's something I always like to do, too.  So, here's the great news –– even though you won't be a Guest staying at the Polynesian, you're welcome to use the walking path between the Resorts or hop on the monorail to check out everything the Resort has to offer, including its beautiful white-sand beach.

In fact, if you're really looking for a little island adventure, here's what I suggest.  After a morning of exploring the parks or hanging out at your Resort, head over to Disney's Polynesian Resort in the early evening to put your name on the waiting list for Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and Tiki Bar (just keep in mind that Guests under the age of 21 can't enter the bar after 8 PM).  If you've never been, this is a one-of-a-kind experience where the drinks and even the bar truly come to life. After a few exotic libations, stop by Pineapple Lanai (located near Capt. Cook's) for a DOLE Whip, before heading down to the beach where you'll have a fantastic view of Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom Park.  For me, it's the perfect way to end a Disney day, so I definitely recommend giving it a try during your visit!

Thanks so much for visiting planDisney, Emilija.  I hope this helped to answer your question, but if you need more information or think of something new as your Walt Disney World Resort visit gets closer, please be sure to stop by again –– we're always here to lend a helping hand!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
