    Hello, I am planning a Disney World trip for December 2017, but want to book now. When are the MagicBand 2.0 going to be available when booking our vacation for us to order? I don't want to book and get the old band and only see a couple new ones

    Hi Adrienne! There has been a lot of excitement over the new Magic Bands that Disney is now offering guests.

    Starting with reservations in January guests are now getting the new bands. They are similar but with a wider face. They are offered in the same colors as the old ones and you will also still be able to personalize them with your names.

    I would certainly go ahead and make your reservations and plans for your December vacation. That month gets busy and you will want to be sure to get the resort of your choice. Once you have booked you will have up until about a month before to personalize and choose your color through your My Disney Experience account. You do not have to do that immediately and if you do you can always change things up until the cut off time. They have to allow shipping so it is about 3-4 weeks before your trip begins. The bands do not ship until immediately before your vacation no matter when you made the initial reservation.

    I now have two new bands in different colors and expect to receive more this year. We never know when Disney might offer a new color too so keep alert for updates.
