Hi Alex! Thanks for visiting planDisney with your important question!
If there is one way to make
The Happiest Place on Earth even happier, it is with a proposal! There are so many fantastic settings at
Disneyland Park so I think you've picked the perfect place. The most iconic spot is in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. However, if you want to see other
PhotoPass locations at the Resort, head over to the
Disneyland Mobile App and click on the location "Pin" icon, which is second to the left on the bottom navigation bar. This opens the park map, where you should select "PhotoPass" from the drop-down list in the top center. This will show all the PhotoPass locations, and if you click on a location pin it will even provide the hours that a PhotoPass photographer is there.
My recommendation would be for a morning proposal when crowds are lighter and the
Disney PhotoPass lines might bit shorter. Alex, when it is your turn to take a picture, the PhotoPass Photographer will generally direct you to place your belongings to the side. This would be the perfect time to discreetly let them know that you're planning to propose. If you want to be extra sneaky like Moana tricking Tamatoa with bioluminescent algae on a barnacle, make sure that you are holding not only your belongings but your girlfriend's as you approach the front of the PhotoPass line. This way you have a moment to speak with the Cast Member on your own.
And, Alex, if all doesn't go to plan, and you don't get that subtle moment ahead of time, rest assured that the PhotoPass photographers are quick on their feet and well-versed in moments like these. They have undoubtedly witnessed many proposals - so take a breath, take your time, and savor the special moment!
After the big ask, make sure to grab a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" or "Happily Ever After" button for you and your betrothed. These can usually be found at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., or the Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street, or at select merchandise shops throughout the Resort. It might also be sweet to buy some Bride Minnie and Groom Mickey Ears from
The Mad Hatter in Disneyland Park, which you can use again after you're married or on your honeymoon! Then, take some more celebration photos throughout the Resort.
Alex, after your visit, make sure to access your precious keepsake photos through the Disneyland Mobile App. In the app, click on the three horizontal line icon on right side of the bottom navigation bar, then click on "Photos" to see your photos. Please note that PhotoPass photos
currently expire 45 days from the date the photo was taken, though this policy may change.
If you end up considering a Disney wedding, please check out
Disney’s Fairytale Weddings & Honeymoons for some breathtaking ideas. Also, my planDisney pals
Prince and
Kay both had Disney weddings and would love to provide their best insight into the process!
Alex, I hope this answers your question. It was a pleasure to help you with this special occasion, and I hope that you'll visit us again soon.
Sincerely,
Melissa
