Hello: I am looking to see which hotel would be the best for a family of 6. 4 adults (Mom & Dad, Grandma, Auntie) and 2 children ages 12 & 8. Looking to stay at a Disney property at Disneyland. Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel? TIA!!!

Greetings, Amelia! Thanks for trusting the Disney Parks Moms Panel to help plan your visit to the Disneyland Resort!

Staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels is a great choice because you have access to one of my favorite perks: Extra Magic Hour. This includes exclusive access for hotel Guests into Disney California Adventure Park one hour early on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

If you are looking for two or three separate rooms, I would say that your decision would come down to budget. Standard rooms at both Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and the Disneyland Hotel will sleep up to five adults with usually two queen beds and a sleeper sofa. Additionally, both hotels offer one-bedroom suites that would accommodate your whole party.

If the Disneyland Hotel is within budget, then I would choose this hotel hands down! The hotel is really easy to navigate, has excellent dining options including a great quick service eatery in Tangaroa Terrace, fabulous pools featuring dual monorail slides which your kids would love, and you can even get my favorite treat at the Coffee House here - the Dole Whip! It's also just a short stroll directly through the Downtown Disney District into the parks. Finally, the exquisitely decorated rooms (with light up head boards!) can be a little more spacious. Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel is a perfectly delightful hotel and some rooms have a great view of Disney California Adventure Park, but the Disneyland Hotel has charmed me and I can't wait to go back.

No matter which lodging option you choose, your family is sure to have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort! Please stop by again as I would love to continue to help you plan your visit.
