Hello, I know you used to be able to buy and personalize a tile outside of Magic Kingdom and there was a similar engraving option in Epcot that were both discontinued. Are they any similar options that are still available to leave your mark? Thank you

    Hi Rhys,

Thanks for dropping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your excellent question. Over the years, I've loved reading the greetings on Disney's "Walk Around the World" bricks at the entrance of Magic Kingdom. Seeing other families' messages reminds me of all the magical memories my own family has created at Walt Disney World.

In 2000, we captured our daughters' images on the Leave a Legacy wall at EPCOT and have loved revisiting their picture over the years.

It has been a number of years since either program was active. In 2019, Walt Disney World announced that the Walk Around the World bricks would be retired as part of enhancements to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. Commemorative souvenir bricks were made available for purchase so that guests who had bought the bricks and those of us who missed the original opportunity could have them for our own homes. Those pavers and other merchandise themed around the bricks are still for sale on ShopDisney.com.

The Leave a Legacy pylons in the front of EPCOT were removed in the fall as the transformation of the theme park got underway. Once construction is complete, the photos will be relocated to a spot outside the entrance. I look forward to seeing them there.

As far as I know, there are no announced plans for any similar programs at the Walt Disney World in the near future. But we can hope, right? The 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World next year sure seems like a perfect occasion to me. I'll continue to keep my eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the news and announcements of commemorations as the historic year begins.

Thanks for your question, Rhys, and for prompting a walk down memory lane.
