Hello, I just found out The Christmas Day Parade will be filmed in MK on Dec 3 when i plan to be there. How will this affect my day in the park? I assume large crowds, but will it mean that areas or attractiions will be closed? Only 16 days 2 go Thx Erin

Hi, Erin!  The Magic Kingdom can be crazy on the day the Christmas Parade is being filmed.  Remember though that filming can change at a moment's notice due to weather, talent schedules, or unforeseen changes.

I was at the filming last year with some of my fellow Disney Moms, and it was a blast!   We were there during the taping of the Jonas Brothers, and it was super busy on Main Street and in front of Cinderella Castle.  To get through the crowds, stay on the sidewalks near the shops.  Decide before you head up Main Street which way you want to go, as it will be nearly impossible to cross the street.   Stay to the left if you want to go to Crystal Palace or Adventureland, and stay to the right if you want to head to Tomorrowland.   Once past the chaos, you should be fine!

To avoid it completely, you may want to visit a park other than the Magic Kingdom on Saturday (unless production schedules change, then you just never know!)   Look at it as a bit of Disney Adventure, and you just never know you might see . . . a celebrity or a special visitor from the North Pole may just be around the corner!  Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
