Hello, I will be in Disneyland -Anaheim late September with my family. I would love to hear how to access any speakeasy type bars (we are not 33 members yet).

    Hi Shannon,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! Disneyland is full of magical details at every turn, even some hidden gems! I’d be happy to share a few secret (and not-so-secret) spots that give off a fantastic speakeasy vibe.

Did you know that Lamplight Lounge has a secret room? Some Disneyland adventurers refer to it as “The Office.” It’s a hidden dining space tucked away behind what appears to be a kitchen door. The entrance is a vault-like door that you’ll need to crank open to enter—how fun is that? While I haven’t had the chance to dine there myself yet, I’ve heard it definitely gives off those exclusive speakeasy vibes. It even includes a private balcony overlooking the Incredicoaster! If you score a dining reservation at Lamplight Lounge, ask a Cast Member if The Office is available that day. And while you're there, don’t skip the donuts—they’re served with seasonal flavors and are always a sweet surprise!

My next recommendation is Oga’s Cantina. While it’s not exactly secretive, it delivers that intimate, otherworldly bar atmosphere. You might find yourself standing at the bar or sharing a booth with fellow travelers from across the galaxy. There’s a new drink I’m looking forward to trying called the Broadberry Meadow. However, my go-to beverage is always the Fuzzy Tauntaun. I just love the buzz foam; it makes my lips tingle in the most fun and unexpected way!

A quick tip: Dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, and both of these locations are very popular. Be sure to check the Disneyland website for availability. If you don’t see your desired time, don’t worry. Guests change their plans often, and reservations can open up. Keep checking back, even the night before your visit!

My final recommendation is the Broken Spell Lounge at the Disneyland Hotel. This spot is a true hidden gem, especially since it’s still fairly new! The lounge features fantastic food and creative drinks, and I’m a big fan of the live music offered on select evenings. It’s the perfect place to wind down and enjoy a magical nightcap after a fun-filled day in the parks.

I hope this helps you discover a few new magical spots, Shannon! If you have any more questions or need more pixie-dusted advice, feel free to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We love helping guests make the most of their Disney days.

    Have a magical vacation!
