Chad Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello, I have a daughter who has been diagnosed with Autism. Are there any special accommodations, special features, or any other special additional things that are provided? We live in Idaho and are just looking into if a trip like is possible.

    Hi Chad,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! The Disneyland Resort has taken many steps to ensure that the Happiest Place on Earth is enjoyable for all. I would be happy to share some resources you can look into to make sure you have a smooth and magical vacation.

If you haven’t already, be sure to look into the Disability Access Service (DAS). This program is offered to guests who are neurodivergent and unable to wait in a traditional ride queue. While DAS does not provide immediate access to attractions, it allows you to receive a return time so you can enjoy other parts of the park while you wait. You can apply for this service up to 60 days in advance of your park visit. If you're unable to schedule an appointment ahead of time, you can also stop by the Accessibility Services Kiosk upon arrival. The kiosk will also have more resources on navigating the park in a more accessible way.

Before arriving at the park, I recommend exploring the Disneyland Resort’s additional services for guests who are neurodivergent. These resources may be especially helpful for your daughter and your family during your visit. Disneyland also provides a Sensory Experience Details chart for all attractions and entertainment at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. I imagine this will be a helpful tool as you plan your day. The details help you know what to expect and help you identify experiences you may want to skip to ensure your daughter has a wonderful time.

Another helpful tip is to use the Mobile Food Order service through the Disneyland app. With the app, you can select specific quick service restaurants to order ahead at. You select a pick up window and purchase your food in advance.  This can save you time waiting in lines and help your family recharge before heading back to the magic.

Finally, I recommend checking out the 2025 Calendar of Events. You can use it as a guide when planning a 2026 trip around a specific season or festival. For example, if your daughter loves Star Wars, you might consider visiting during the Season of the Force, when there are even more Star Wars-themed experiences.

I hope this helps with your planning, Chad! I am confident that you will be able to plan an amazing Disneyland vacation for your daughter.  If you have more questions or need additional tips, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your planning.

    Happy Planning!
