Welcome, Ronabelle! Thank you for bringing this question to planDisney and I'll be delighted to help you out as you plan your next visit to Disneyland Resort!
How exciting that your visit is coming up in just a few short months! The countdown is on! Indeed, you might have already seen that September 3rd has been announced as an event date for
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party, set to take place at
Disney California Adventure Park. This means that this theme park will close early to Guests who do not have a separate ticket for this event. However,
Disneyland Park and its entertainment offerings (such as fireworks and scheduled parade entertainment) will still be available to enjoy without an event ticket!
For this reason, I have a couple of suggestions for you. First, if you haven't already considered a
Park Hopper ticket, this is a great option because it enables you to access both theme parks on the same day, so long as there is capacity. That means that you could enjoy Disney California Adventure Park until its closing hours for the party, and then hop over to Disneyland Park and enjoy the evening hours (or really, any time during the eligible Park Hopper hours!) Another option, if you only have a 1 Park per Day ticket is to make your
theme park reservation on September 3rd for Disneyland Park, which would avoid any issues with the early closure time at Disney California Adventure Park.
Ronabelle, let me also share with you a strategy for viewing the live entertainment schedules as your visit approaches. I love to use the
Hours & Events Calendar which lists all the entertainment, parade, and nighttime spectacular showtimes for roughly 6 weeks at a time. While it's too soon yet to see what is scheduled for September 3rd, you should be able to view this in just a couple more weeks so you can start to plan ahead for what shows and other entertainment offerings might be available during your visit dates. Of course, schedules are always subject to change but it serves as a great starting point. I hope this has been helpful for now, Ronabelle! If we can assist with any other planning questions, please don't hesitate to come back to
planDisney, anytime!
Wishing you Wondrous Journeys,
