    Hello, How can I get from MK to the Mickey BBQ dinner show without having to take the boat?

    Hi Marilyn!  If you are in the Magic Kingdom and trying to get to Fort Wilderness the easiest and fastest way is indeed the boat transportation that they offer. If for some reason you do not feel comfortable using the boat then your trek will be quite lengthy.

    Fort Wilderness does not run buses to the Magic Kingdom. If you need to use another type of transportation your next best option is to catch a taxi from the Transportation and Ticket Center or one of the monorail resorts. The taxi will be able to drop you off at the front of the Fort Wilderness resort where you will then have to take an internal bus to the other end which is where Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is located. Buses to Fort Wilderness will only run from the other three parks and Disney Springs.

    The boat is the most convenient. They leave directly in front of the Magic Kingdom entrance and they come and go about every 15-20 minutes. The trip takes about 12-15 minutes to the resort. Once you dock you will have a short walk to the Mickey's Backyard Barbecue area which is behind Pioneer Hall. The Water Transportation is comfortable and ECV's and strollers can easily be accommodated on these larger boats.
