Hi Annette! Welcome to planDisney!
One of my favorite parts of being a
planDisney panelist is getting a chance to take a trip down memory lane with some of the questions I get to answer. This question allowed me the opportunity to do so and think back to some of the special events that Disney Parks has held over the years.
Back in 2012, One More Disney Day was an event that kept
Disneyland Park open from 6 AM on February 29th (Leap Day) until 6 AM on March 1st. It was truly a one-of-a-kind day that I'm sure Guests will always remember. This event did allow you access to the park on two calendar days, but it did not allow you to spend the entire second day at the park. While this 24-hour event has not returned in recent leap years, the Disneyland Resort has commemorated this day in other ways. There may be special
Disney PhotoPass opportunities around the two parks or some merchandise to celebrate this extra day of the year. I would follow along with the
Disney Parks Blog for any news and announcements. It's possible that a new plan may be in the works for 2024.
Even though you may not be able to experience a full overnight visit, many times Disneyland Park stays open late. You may have park hours on the day of your visit that extend until midnight. This will give you plenty of time to experience the magic during the day and into the night sky.
Annette, I hope this helps you plan for your stay! I wish there was more information to share at this time, but I'm sure you will have an unforgettable experience no matter what!
Have a magical day!
Greg
