Hiya, Philipp! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with this great question.
Disneyland Resort
dining reservations open between two and 60 days before a given date. I also have a family of five, and I am always sure to check for reservations as soon as that 60-day window opens to have the best possible chance of snagging the location and time I want. There are some locations, like Blue Bayou and
character dining, that book incredibly quickly. So, if I can't book the reservation I want, I keep checking back leading up to my trip, as availability sometimes opens up as other Guests change their plans.
Philipp,
Lamplight Lounge is one of the most popular restaurants inside
California Adventure Park. Its location overlooking Pixar Pier and Pixar Pal-A-Round is unparalleled. To dine at any of the restaurants inside the theme parks, a valid admission ticket and
theme park reservation are required. Unfortunately, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you; the reservations are based on table size, and the four top tables are pretty standard and will have more overall availability. You could try booking a reservation for four people and ask a Cast Member at the restaurant on the day of your visit to increase the number to five, but there is no guarantee that they can accommodate the request.
If you can't snag the reservation you want before your visit, there may be a limited number of same-day walk-ups available on the day of your visit. You can join the Walk-Up List in the
Disneyland Mobile App or by visiting the restaurant in person. To use the Walk-Up List in the app, you generally must be near the restaurant. Then, tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the home screen and search for the name of the restaurant. If the walk-up list is available, click "Join the Walk-Up." If the walk-up list is not available, there is usually a message indicating this on the restaurant's page. You can always head over to the restaurant and ask a Cast Member in person. Please note that whether you use the app or go in person, you'll want to be flexible with your meal times and join the Walk-Up List as soon as the restaurant opens for the day. For restaurants in high demand, the Walk-Up List may not even be available, especially during busy seasons!
Philipp, I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions or would like other dining recommendations, please

See ya real soon,
