Hi Rachel,
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your great question! Disney's Fort Wilderness is such a unique Resort - it is literally nestled in a 750 acre forest! Guests may choose to stay at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort or at
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. There are so many distinctive activities to partake at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort that you may find that it is a vacation within a vacation!
Due to the global pandemic, the guidelines within
Walt Disney World Phased Reopening specifies the principles of how Guests vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort. In order to promote physical distancing and maintain an appropriate number of individuals in each location, Guests are not permitted to visit other Walt Disney World Resort hotels except those with which they have a
Dining Reservation. At the time of this writing, there are no restaurants at Fort Wilderness which accept dining reservations so visiting there at the current time isn't possible for Guests staying elsewhere.
However - good news! If you are planning a visit at a future date after the current restrictions have been lifted, then you will be able to visit Disney's Fort Wilderness and
Rent a Golf Cart even if you are not a Guest of Disney's Fort Wilderness. I called the number listed in the previous link and discussed with the Cast Member there today. The Cast Member verified that in the future Guests who are not staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort will be able to rent a golf cart in the future after the capacity restrictions have been lifted.
I hope this information helps with the planning of your next Magical vacation. Please stop by again if you have any further questions, we love to help!
