Hello, Do I have to manually open my Google pay app each time I get on a ride using my genie+ and then swipe to each person's pass in my party? Or will it read them all at once? My kids are too young to carry phones.

Hiya Derek - welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for stopping by with your very first question for our team of planDisney panelists! We're always here to help make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation extra magical. Speaking of magic - did you know that the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration is in full swing? There are tons of new experiences, attractions, entertainment, food, and so much more!

Disney's new MagicMobile service, as part of the My Disney Experience Mobile App, is a great way to use your compatible phone or smartwatch for many of the activities you'd usually use a MagicBand or Key to the World Card for during your vacation. You can do so much, including entering Theme Parks with valid admission, using Lightning Lane attraction entrances, making purchases as a Disney Resorts Collection Guest, linking PhotoPass photos, and so much more!

Currently, for entering a Theme Park or an attraction's Lightning Lane, each Guest in your party must have their individual Disney MagicMobile pass scanned. So, the scenario you described is how this system currently works with Google Pay - you'll tap separately for each Guest, and will need to swipe through each pass. This new technology is always changing, so things might get a bit simpler in the future, but that's how it works now.

If this process doesn't sound like a great fit for your crew, you always have two other great options to consider. First, you can purchase MagicBands and link them to each Guest in your party. Instead of using your phone, each Guest in your crew will simply tap their own MagicBand to enter the parks or an attraction's Lightning Lane entrance. There are so many fun and unique designs to choose from, and it can be a fun activity for your little Mouseketeers to pick their very own MagicBand!

While MagicBands are not complimentary, there is another option that is - Key to the World Cards! These RFID-enabled cards act just like a MagicBand or MagicMobile pass on your smart device. Some families find it easier to use these physical cards because one person can hold on to all of them and scan for the group - do whatever works best for you! You can obtain these cards at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel Front Desk, or by visiting a Guest Relations location at any Theme Park or Disney Springs.

I hope this information helps - please let me know if any other questions come up as you continue planning!
