Hello Christopher,
I think that your plan to set sail right at the start of January is a perfect way to ring in the New Year! You'll be stepping aboard soon and I want to make sure that your bags are packed and ready for the adventures that are just around the corner.
On most five-night sailings onboard the Disney Cruise Line, you will be treated to a
special pirate-themed evening. On a recent cruise, my family enjoyed donning our favorite buccaneer gear. If you don't have anything in your wardrobe that Captain Hook or his pirate crew would wear, not to worry! It's likely that you will find a pirate bandana ready and waiting for you in your stateroom on the big day. If you find that you are needing to look just a bit more swashbuckling, there is often pirate-themed merchandise for sale in Mickey's Mainsail for you to peruse while the ship is sailing.
My bags were packed with my pirate apparel but I also included some dressier outfits. While there wasn't an official optional "formal night" on my most recent cruise, my family still opted to dress up for dinner on our final evening. I personally enjoy the photographs we take as a family in our more formal wear. Please keep in mind that
formal wear is always optional and that cruise casual attire is welcome in all of the Main Dining restaurants every night. Cruise casual simply means no swimwear or tank tops.
Whatever you choose to pack, I know that your cruise vacation will be packed full of fun! Have a fantastic voyage and thank you so much for reaching out to planDisney. It's my hope that you and your sailing crew will make magical memories.
Bon Voyage,
Adrianna
