Hi Suzanne,
Welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you’re already dreaming of a magical Walt Disney World Resort holiday, and let me say, there’s so much to be excited about! From thrilling attractions and world-class entertainment to unforgettable dining and character experiences, each day at Walt Disney World is packed with fun. And of course, no visit would be complete without bringing a little bit of the magic home with you! I’m talking Resort Refillable Mugs (a must-have in my book), collectible Disney coffee mugs (my current faves are the Monorail-themed one, cheers, Nilson, and the Tarzan anniversary mug, thanks, Melissa!), and let’s not forget the always stylish Spirit Jerseys.
We have a lot of ground to cover regarding your question about shipping merchandise back to the UK, so let’s dive right in. The short answer is: yes, you absolutely can! There are a few different ways to make sure everything makes it home safely across the pond:
- At Checkout in the Parks: This used to be one of the most convenient ways to ship your Disney treasures home, but during a recent visit, a friendly Cast Member let me know that shipping merchandise directly from most in-park locations is no longer offered. That said, it never hurts to ask, especially when you’re already picking up those must-have Mickey ears! Just know that the more reliable options at the moment are numbers two, three, four, and my go-to, number five.
- Through your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel: Disney Resort hotels still assist with shipping if you bring a pre-paid, pre-labeled package (think UPS or FedEx). Check in at the front desk or concierge to see if this service is available during your stay.
- Convention and Business Centers: Resorts with conference centers, like Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, typically offer more robust shipping services. This is a great route if you’ve got fragile or bulky souvenirs that deserve some extra care.
- Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs: Here’s a hidden gem! The Marketplace Co-Op includes a dedicated shipping location where you can send your Disney purchases home. It’s a great option if you’re ending your day at Disney Springs or want a one-stop shop for both unique merch and reliable shipping.
- The Extra Suitcase Method (my favorite): If you’re like me and can’t resist the call of a new Spirit Jersey or resort mug, plan ahead by bringing an extra suitcase, or leave space in your existing one. This way, you can safely pack your haul and simply check an additional bag on your flight home. It’s usually cost-effective and gives you full control over how your items are packed.
Let me know if you have more questions, Suzanne! I’d love to help you uncover even more must-shop spots and maybe suggest a refreshing drink or two at Disney Springs to toast to your new gear.
