hello..and thank you for your great advice !! love to read your panel....arriving july 26th and staying at animal kingdom lodge with my wife and 2 children (ages 6 and 3 ) would like to know if any of the 3 savannah views are better than the other ?

Hi Bruce!  I think you will have excellent views at any of the savanna's.  And no matter what savanna your room is located in, you are welcome to roam around the resort as there are numerous viewing locations throughout the resorts that you can also enjoy.

That being said, when I stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL), I prefer to request the Zebra Trail rooms.  The reason is, if you look at a resort map (you can find one on allears.net) you'll notice the resort is in the shape of a "horseshoe" with the bottom of the horseshoe being the main entrance.  The Zebra trail is located to the right.  Also to the right of the resort is The Mara (the quick service meal location), the pool, laundry, etc.  I just find that area of the resort to be much more convenient and we've always had great view of the animals.

We've also requested lower floors.  The first year we stayed at AKL, we were located on the 5th floor.  We were able to see the animals but we also saw lots of tree tops!  With our subsequent visits, we asked for lower floors and we found our views of the animals to be much better.

I hope you enjoy your stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge!  Diane  :)
