Hello, A question re lightning lane and pay per ride. Can I buy purchase a pay per ride for later in the day and also have a Genie+ ride reservation? Meaning, do I need to wait for the pay per ride attraction to be completed first or can I have both

Hi Jody, and welcome to planDisney.

Thank you for stopping by with your question! It sounds like the magic is calling you to the Walt Disney World Resort, and you are going to have an incredible time. With The World's Most Magical Vacation in full swing, celebrating the resort's 50th anniversary, there is so much magic in the air!

Disney Genie Service came out of the lamp a few weeks ago, new planning power to Guests in all four theme parks. When you purchase Disney Genie+, you'll be able to select times to ride select available attractions, one ride at a time, all day long. Using the My Disney Experience mobile app, you can make your first selection at 7:00 a.m., and then, once you've redeemed that initial selection, use the app to make another - and continue all day long!

Guests may also purchase Individual Lightning Lane Selections for up to two of the most highly demanded attractions per day. Pricing and availability vary by date, so be sure to check My Disney Experience on the day of your visit to see your options. Navigate to the Disney Genie Service Tip Board or "My Day" in the app to see your options for purchasing. These may be purchased at 7:00 a.m. if you are a Guest at a Disney resort hotel, or when the park opens if you're a day Guest.

Jody, you may indeed purchase Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Selections at the same time, and you may continue to make Genie+ Lightning Lane selections while you've got an upcoming Individual Lightning Lane selection. Think of the two as operating independently from one another. You will need to keep an eye on your Disney Genie itinerary because it may overlap a Genie+ selection with one of your paid Individual Lightning Lane selections. You can still use your paid selection if this happens, it's just not ideal planning.

I hope this helps as you plan your Disney days. We've had lots of Disney Genie Service questions, and it's my philosophy that once we get in the parks and use the new service, it will all become clear. As Genie himself says, "all you gotta do is rub that lamp!" Have so much fun with your planning, and please come back and see us if you have any further questions.

    Wishing you much magic,
    Robyn
